Gwyneth Paltrow was sued back in 2019 after her involvement in a ski crash, the actress is supposed to stand trial seven years after the incident as the case is headed to court, the case is referred to as “hit and run.”
The trial starts on Tuesday and is planned to continue for at least 8 days, however, whether the actress will testify or not is still unclear.
Terry Sanderson filed a lawsuit against the actress, according to Terry he was seriously injured and left without any assistance when the actress crashed into him at Ski Resort. The incident occurred on February 26, 2016, in Deer Valley, Utah.
Details about the Lawsuit
Terry a 76 years old retired optometrist claims, that while he was skiing on beginner run deer valley, the “Iron-Man” actress was skiing down the slopes so rashly that she collided with him, after the collision the actress and her group continued to ski further downhill while he was left injured on the ground without any help.
“Gwyneth Paltrow skied out of control,” Sanderson’s attorneys claim, “knocking him down hard, knocking him out, and causing a brain injury, four broken ribs, and other serious injuries. Paltrow got up, turned, and skied away, leaving Sanderson stunned, lying in the snow, seriously injured.”
The retired doctor also claimed that he was approached by a ski instructor from the resort, but he “also failed to send help.” The workers of the resort were accused of filing a fake report to protect the actress from any repercussions.
As per the documents, “The ski instructor filed a false report to protect his client, Ms. Paltrow,” the documents claimed, “Neither Ms. Paltrow nor Deer Valley lodge personnel notified emergency responders about the injured Dr. Sanderson.”
The Doctor has filed a lawsuit wanting $3 million in damages. On the other hand, Gwyneth has denied all the accusations, “This lawsuit is completely without merit and we expect to be vindicated.” The “Iron-Man” actress has filed a countersuit in 2019 seeking $1 in damages.
The lawsuit is proceeding and will be held at Park City District Court, it will start on 21st March and will continue for 8 days. As per the reports of Daily Mail, the claims of the doctor were reduced to $300,000 from $3.1 million by the Judge.
