This wasn’t only case of an eruption and explosion with a resident living in Texas who decided to sue Gwyneth Paltrow’s wellness brand Goop for damages worth $5 million USD.

In the latest court documents obtained by a leading global hollywood entertainment portal, Colby Watson placed severe allegations which clearly stated about how Goop and Heretic’s ‘This smells like my vagina’ candles “explode or suffer catastrophic failure during the candle’s normal usage because of a design defect and/or manufacturing flaw”.

This is reportedly a class action complaint on behalf of the plaintiff in addition to a number of other customers of the same candle.

Also the plaintiff spoke about how the candle which burned for even less than 3 hours, suddenly “became engulfed in high flames. The plaintiff then discovered the candle exploded and that the room in his home where the candle was located was filled with smoke”.

The candle remains for sale on both Goop and Heretic and now the official statement from Goop fiercely defending the product read, “We’re confident this claim is frivolous and an attempt to secure an outsized payout from a press-heavy product. We stand behind the brands we carry and the safety of the products we sell. Here, Heretic—the brand that supplies the candle—has substantiated the product’s performance and safety through industry standard testing”.

Another similar case in UK back in January where a woman named Jody Thompson complained that her candle had “exploded and emitted huge flames, with bits flying everywhere”. Later speaking about it, she had said, “I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole thing was ablaze and it was too hot to touch. There was an inferno in the room”.

A jury trial has been demanded in the court documents. Will the wellness empire of Goop take a tumble? Let us know about same in the comments below.
