After much wait and buzz, several A-list Hollywood celebrities walked the Grammys 2023 red carpet. Music’s biggest night saw the prominent names of the Hollywood industry. Just like every year, the 65th annual Grammy Awards was filled with teary and lol moments. While Beyonce arrived at the award ceremony Fashionably late, fans got to see reuniting Harry Styles and Taylor Swift. Check out some of the more highlighting moments from Grammys 2023.
Kim Petras
Kim Petras gets a nod for the best pop group/duo performance award alongside Sam Smith for their collaboration, ‘Unholy.’ Notably, she becomes the first transgender to receive an award in this category. While accepting the award, Kim broke down in tears as she shared she was the first transgender woman to take home the win in that category.
She said in her touching speech, by saying, “I just want to thank all the transgender artists who kicked the door open in order for me to be here tonight.”
Golden Jubilee of Hip-Hop
All singers and stars from the Hollywood industry gathered together to witness the milestone and celebrate recent history in a stirring tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. LL Cool J started things off, with everyone from Run-DMC and Ice-T to Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott joining in with a steady stream of hits.
The performance included a tribute to Nelly’s 2002 ‘Hot in Herre,’ 1988’s ‘My Mike Sounds Nice’ by Salt-N-Pepa and Spinderella and Busta Rhymes pairing with Spliff Star to recite all the lyrics from his verse in Chris Brown’s 2011 single, ‘Look at Me Now,’ among other major moments that had the crowd on its feet.
Adele Meets Dwayne The Rock Johnson
Adele is the biggest fan of The Rock and she previously revealed that she will cry if she ever meets him. And it was her moment when Trevor Noah approached the singer’s table to make a long overdue introduction. Noah said, “The person that Adele has always wanted to meet is Dwayne Johnson… I found out he’s a huge fan of yours, too.” After hearing this, Adele looked overjoyed.
Despite teasing that he didn’t have Dwayne Johnson ‘here tonight,’ Noah revealed to the legendary performer that he did have ‘someone called The Rock’ with him. However, after grabbing her boyfriend Rich Paul’s shoulder, in surprise, Adele stood up quickly and received a big hug from the former professional wrestler-turned-actor. Adele and The Rock went on to greet one another with a kiss on each cheek, which left her beaming from ear to ear.
