‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Wilko Johnson Dies At 75

Wilko Johnson played the role of Ser IIyn Payne on the famous HBO series Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones star and the British blues-rock band Dr Feelgood guitarist, Wilko Johnson has left the world. Johnson was 75. Wilko’s family recently released a statement on social media confirming that the musician breathed his last on Monday evening at his home in southeast England.

Wilko’s family statement reads, “This is the announcement we never wanted to make, and we do so, on behalf of Wilko’s family and the band, with a very heavy heart: Wilko Johnson has died.” The social media statement continues, “He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Westcliff On Sea on Monday evening, 21st November 2022. He was 75. Thank you for respecting Wilko’s family’s privacy at this very sad time, and thank you all for having been such a tremendous support throughout Wilko’s incredible life. RIP Wilko Johnson.”

For those unversed, Johnson played the role of Ser IIyn Payne on the famous HBO series Game of Thrones. The actor and musician was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2012. However, the GOT actor declined chemotherapy treatment and instead decided to go on one last tour and record a final album titled Going Back Home. Meanwhile, in 2014, Johnson announced he was cancer-free following surgery to remove a 3-kilogram (6.6-pound) tumour. Wilko Johnson is survived by his sons Simon and Matthew and grandson Dylan.
