It’s sad news for The Resident audience because Fox has reportedly cancelled the intriguing medical drama The Resident after six enticing seasons. Amy Holden Jones created the show, which revolved around the lives of Chastain Memorial Hospital staff members who overcame both personal and professional obstacles while fighting for their parents’ well-being. The cast of the show included Matt Czuchry, Bruce Greenwood, Manish Dayal, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and Jane Leeves. The sixth season of the show premiered in January 2023. There will almost certainly be no more seasons of the show.
Unfortunately, the show has not been renewed for a seventh season. Due to a significant drop in viewership, Fox appears to have decided to cancel season 7 of the popular medical drama series “The Resident.” According to sources, the network cancelled the show due to a gradual decline in ratings. The sixth season saw a 27% decrease in demo viewers and a 12% decrease in total multiplatform viewers when compared to last year. Furthermore, the show saw a 35% drop from season one and a 12% drop from season five. The sixth episode of the show aired in January 2023.

Meanwhile, a December report hinted that season 7 is still a possibility. As a result, nothing can be said for the time being.
