Florence Pugh Takes A Dig At Olivia Wilde As She Promotes New Film ‘The Wonder’

Florence has been promoting the new film at the London Film Festival and spoke about how proud she was of the movie.

Florence Pugh seemingly took a subtle dig at Olivia Wilde as she promoted her new movie The Wonder. The actress starred as the lead character in the upcoming film, based on the hit book by Emma Donoghue. The Wonder follows a nurse, who is investigating a child in Ireland who doesn’t seem to eat but stays miraculously alive.

Florence has been promoting the new film at the London Film Festival and spoke about how proud she was of the movie. The actress said to DailyMail, “It’s incredibly dark, and I love doing dark films! I’m really proud of this baby, so I am happy to be here.” This appeared to be a  dig at Olivia and her last film Don’t Worry Darling, which Florence avoided promoting amid rumours of a feud between the two stars.

Florence missed the photocall for the movie during the Venice Film Festival and kept her distance from the director on the red carpet. Meanwhile, the eagle-eyed fans noticed that the actress posted about the film on her social media accounts avoiding direct reference to Olivia and Styles. Her post has also fuelled rumours of friction on the set.

However, previously it was claimed by Page Six that Florence was upset with Olivia because she was hooking up with leading man Harry Styles during the production, while still engaged to Jason Sudeikis before they split in November. The source revealed to the outlet, “I can tell you for a fact that Flo seeing Olivia and Harry all over each other on set did not go down well as Olivia was still with Jason when she first hooked up with Harry.”

Florence was asked by an Italian journalist at the event about what she found ‘inspiring’ in the film and appeared to make a sly dig at Olivia. She responded, “I think it’s very very inspiring to see a woman push back and say ‘no’, and question everything. It’s very exciting to see a woman do that on and off camera.” Meanwhile, when she was asked ‘says ‘no’ off camera, Pugh jokingly responded, “When do I say ‘no’? When someone says I can’t have cake.”
