The Fast and Furious franchise enjoys a massive fan following across the globe. The action-filled thriller crime series has captivated its fans ever since the release of its first installment. However, there’s a piece of bad news for all the Fast and Furious fans. Hearsay suggests that Fast and Furious 11 will be the last film of the franchise.
According to the reports by Variety, the franchise running for the past two decades will reach the finish line with only two more additions. Justin Lin, the director of the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and ninth Fast and Furious films, will reportedly direct the final two installments of the franchise.
As per another report, the Fast and Furious 11 will apparently not be the end of the F&F cinematic universe.
The reports state that the core storyline of the Fast and Furious revolving around Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and his family of fellow car-enthusiasts- turned-thieves-turned-physics-defying-superheroes will conclude after Lin directs the 11th installment.
However, it still leaves a door open for a possibility for spin-off movies based on characters from the series. The spin-offs are currently under development as per the reports.
For the unknown, the Fast and Furious 9 was slated to release earlier this year. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Universal postponed the venture to July 2021.
The film has an amazing star cast consisting of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, and Tyrese Gibson. Apart from them, Dwayne Johnson has also played a memorable role in the Fast and Furious series.
The Fast and Furious 9 will have a special appearance of WWE star John Cena. The wrestler has a pivotal role in the 9th installment of the franchise.
The official announcement about Fast and Furious 11 being the last film isn’t confirmed.
