Everything To Know About The Witcher Season 3, So Far

The makers have revealed during Netflix's annual fan event Tudum that The Witcher season 3 will release in summer 2023.

The Witcher fan’s wait will over soon! Netflix has recently shared an update on the third season of its acclaimed fantasy series. During the Netflix Tudum event, The Witcher’s cast announced that the highly anticipated series will return to the streaming giant in summer 2023.

Back in April, the show’s official social media account revealed that they have started filming, sharing a picture of Cavill, Chalotra and Allan on set in a snowy winter wonderland. The caption of the photo reads, “Our family is back together again. #TheWitcher Season 3 is officially in production!”

The Witcher Season 3 Plot
Soon after, the series’ account revealed the official plot summary for the upcoming season. The witcher official plot synopsis reads, “As monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it.”

The synopsis continues, “Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line or risk losing each other forever.”

The Witcher Season 3 Cast
The Witcher lead cast will, Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra will reprise their respective roles, Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer. Kim Bodnia, Paul Bullion, and Yasen Atour are also expected to return in season 3. Other series regulars who will return in the upcoming season, include Joey Batey, Mimi Ndiweni, Eamon Farren, Mecia Simson, Tom Canton, Anna Shaffer, MyAnna Buring, Wilson Mbomio, Royce Pierreson, Mahesh Jadu, and Lars Mikkelsen.

There are also several new additions to the cast in the second season that is in line for a comeback. Meanwhile, four new actors are also joining the cast list. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Meng’er Zhang will play Milva. Robbie Amell is set to star as ‘born fighter’ Gallatin. Hugh Skinner will play Radovid and Christelle Elwin will star as Mistle, a member of The Rats.
