Everything To Know About ‘The Walking Dead’ Spinoffs

AMC also revealed that Fear the Walking Dead will conclude at the end of its upcoming eighth season.

The Walking Dead is getting not one or two but three spin-off series. AMC recently announced during the Television Critics Association winter press tour that there will be three new spin-offs. Moreover, Walking Dead favourite stars Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be back for the shows.

Walking Dead final season will premiere in November. However, the zombie apocalypse world it created is thriving. Negan and Maggie will travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan which has been cut off from the mainland. It was also revealed that the crumbling city is filled with ‘the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.’ The upcoming show is set to debut in June, however, the confirmed release date is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Norman Reedus will headline The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon sometime after the rollout of Dead City. The plot follows Daryl after he washes ashore in France and struggles to figure out how he got there and why. As he travels across a troubled but resilient nation, he forms connections along the way that may complicate his plan to return home.

The untitled spinoff series starring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira as Rick Grimes and Michonne is set to begin production this year and debut sometime in 2024. The two will take part in ‘an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world,’ according to AMC. ‘Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living.’

However, there’s also sad news for the fans. AMC also revealed that Fear the Walking Dead will conclude at the end of its upcoming eighth season. Fear the Walking Dead’s final season will be split into two parts, with six episodes premiering in May and June and the remaining six set for later in the year.
