Directed by The Boys director, Dan Trachtenberg Prey is set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago.

The Disney studio has announced the arrival of the most awaited prequel. On Disney+ Day, It announced that the new Predator movie is set to drop in summer 2022, and will be titled Prey. The Predator prequel, Prey will debut on Disney+ sister streaming service Hulu.

On Friday, the official social media account of Predator shared a glimpse of the movie. The snaps and the caption also revealed that where the plotline might lead. However, Deadline first reported about the project a year ago, with 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg directing. The pictures shared were set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago.

The snaps follow Naru (Amber Midthunder), a skilled female warrior who fiercely protects her tribe against a highly evolved alien predator. The caption read, “An all-new entry in the #Predator franchise, ‘Prey’ is set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago. See the original film directed by Dan Trachtenberg (‘The Boys,’ ’10 Cloverfield Lane’) and produced by Jhane Myers, only on @Hulu in 2022.

However, the script is penned by Patrick Aison, whose producer-writer credits include the series Kingdom, Jack Ryan, and Treadstone. Jhane Myers also is a producer and a member of the Comanche Nation and a Sundance Fellow. Prey aka Skulls wrapped on September 12 in Calgary as revealed by Jeff Cutter’s Instagram profile photo. The Predator movies through six films, including two Alien vs. Predator movies, was a huge success while grossing $750.8 million at the global box office.
