Elon Musk and Grimes have parted ways after three years together. The SpaceX founder confirmed that he and the Canadian singer are semi-separated but remain on good terms. He also added that the couple will continue to co-parent their 1-year-old son.
Tesla CEO said, “We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently, and are on great terms.” He added, “It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”
The couple was last seen together at the Met Gala event where they separately walked on the red carpet but were later seen together inside the event. Elon,50, later threw Met Gala afterparty at hot private members club Zero Bond, where he was joined by Grimes, and on the following day, the couple was photographed leaving New York together. However, Tesla CEO attended a party last weekend thrown by Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s wife, Nicole Shanahan, alone.
Meantime, Oblivion singer Grimes is busy shooting the new Fox show Alter Ego, in which she appears as a judge. She recently disclosed that welcoming her child with Musk has opened her up to a whole new world of creativity. While getting ready for the Met Gala, she told Vogue, “I think having a baby was a big kind of like rebirth for me, like artistically. Like, it just like, I don’t know.”

She also opens up that she doesn’t ‘identify’ with the word ‘mother.’ She also said that Little X calls her by her first name. The singer said, “Being a mother feels weird to say. For some reason, I don’t identify with that word which is also really weird, because X, he says Claire, but he doesn’t say, Mama.”
The couple started dating in 2018 and welcomed their first child, named X Æ A-Xii (pronunciation – X Ash A Twelve) last year in May.
Musk was earlier married to author Justine Wilson, with whom he shares five sons – twins Griffin and Xavier, 17, and triplets Damian, Saxon, and Kai, 15. He was also married twice to Westworld actress Talulah Riley. They first married in 2010 but separated in 2012. They reconciled a year later, remarried in 2013, and separated again in 2016. The billionaire also was in a relationship with Amber Heard from 2017 to 2018 following her ill-fated marriage to Johnny Depp.
