After much speculation over the upcoming song of Ed Sheeran’s The Joker And The Queen featuring his old friend Taylor Swift, the singer finally confirmed it. Taking to his Instagram, Ed Sheeran also officially revealed the release date of the upcoming collaboration.

The Shape of You singer shared a clip of a card that features the joker and the queen. While Sheeran didn’t reveal what the song would be, fans are guessing it’s a remix of The Joker and the Queen, originally featured without Swift on Sheeran’s fourth studio album, = or Equals, which also topped the Billboard 200 albums chart dated November 13. Meanwhile, fans already knew that The Joker And The Queen is a collaboration of Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.

According to Twitter fan theories, there have been a series of hints that the two might be doing something together related to the song as the Taylor Swift patch on the back of Sheeran’s jacket in his ‘Overpass Graffiti’ video, and the equal sign Swift carved into the cake in her I Bet You Think About Me video. However, the latest hint came on February 5, when eagle-eyed fans noticed the song credits on YouTube for Sheeran’s The Joker and the Queen official lyric video showed the words ‘feat. Taylor Swift.’

However, The Joker and the Queen is not the first collaboration of two best friends. The two longtime friends have previously collaborated on three Swift songs titled, Everything Has Changed on Red, End Game on Reputation, and Run, a vault track on Red (Taylor’s Version).
