Here Are Early Twitter Reactions To Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’

After over a decade in development, Black Adam will be released in theatres on October 21, 2022.

DC’s Black Adam was recently premiere for a New York audience following its premiere at AMC Empire 25 in Manhattan. The upcoming DC film stars Dwayne Johnson as the titular DC antihero Black Adam, who has been imprisoned for 5,000 years before being freed into modern times. Black Adam has been directed by Spanish director Jaume Collet-Serra, who is best known for The Shallows, Orphan.

Black Adam is the 11th film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film also stars Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi as Isis, Marwan Kenzari as Sabbac, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. The upcoming superhero movie is being produced under the banners of DC Entertainment, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros., Flynn Picture Company and Seven Bucks Productions.

The upcoming superhero movie was initially planned to release in December 2021 but it could not happen due to the pandemic. In the meantime, a few more casts were added in the Black Adam and the script was written again. The shooting of this movie started in April 2021 and ended in August 2021 in Atlanta. After over a decade in development, Black Adam will be released in theatres on October 21, 2022.

Meanwhile, the Black Adam plot synopsis by IMDb reads, “Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods-and imprisoned just as quickly-Black Adam, played by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.” The official review for Black Adam will come next week, but here are some of the reactions from the NYC premiere posted to social media.
