Duffy Shares Her Horrifying Rape Stroy In Order To Help Similar Victims

Singer Duffy has shared her disturbing case of rape that came to light in February. She wants to inspire similar victims through her narrative.

The Welsh pop star Duffy has made some surprising disclosures. Earlier, according to a story from a global news agency, the singer says she has been assaulted, drugged and held hostage for weeks. Duffy came out with it now, though, because she wanted her “dark” story to encourage “other people who suffered the same thing.”

Duffy, whose full name is Aimee Duffy, in a post on her official web page revealed the harrowing details. She revealed on her birthday she was being drugged in a restaurant and was being treated badly in her own home before being kidnapped.

Singer Duffy expressed the situation as, “It was my birthday, I was drugged at a restaurant, I was drugged then for four weeks and traveled to a foreign country. I can’t remember getting on the plane and came round in the back of a traveling vehicle. I was put into a hotel room and the perpetrator returned and raped me. I remember the pain and trying to stay conscious in the room after it happened. I was stuck with him for another day, he didn’t look at me, I was to walk behind him, I was somewhat conscious and withdrawn. I could have been disposed of by him”.

She explained that her attacker made “veiled confessions of wanting to kill me”  The singer said that she didn’t know “the strength to endure those days”  Duffy later escaped her captor but expressed now. Yet she said, “cannot remember getting home”.

Duffy further wrote “I hope it comforts you to feel less ashamed if you feel alone. I am no longer ashamed that something deeply hurt me, anymore. I believe that if you speak from the heart within you, the heart within others will answer. As dark as my story is, I do speak from my heart, for my life, and for the life of others, who have suffered the same”.

She continued that she was even terrified of going to the police at first but finally confided to a female officer after somebody threatened to “out” her story.

Speaking more about it, singer Duffy revealed she had been living alone for 10 years and was at a “high risk of suicide” after the abduction. She said, however, that after going a therapy under a counselor she could now leave it all behind. She also thanked the latter for their support in resolving the trauma. Though she said she would very soon release some of her works.
