Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden are officially married. The couple, who have been together for several years, exchanged vows in a private ceremony last week, solidifying their relationship that blossomed on the set of Mary Queen of Scots (2018).
According to the Irish Independent, Ronan, 30, and Lowden, 34, opted for an intimate wedding in Scotland, surrounded by close family and friends. The co-stars had a civil wedding ceremony at the Registrar’s office of Edinburgh, located at the City Chambers. As per the reports of the People, the closest friends attended the wedding and all the guests present were “sworn to secrecy.”
The couple first met while filming the 2018 historical drama Mary Queen of Scots, where Ronan played the titular role of Mary Stuart, and Lowden portrayed her second husband, Lord Darnley. Their on-screen chemistry quickly translated into a real-life romance, and they have been inseparable since.
In 2018, Page Six reported the dating rumours of Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden. The publication mentioned that the source told them that the actors were “extremely close” and Lowden even followed the actress to the bathroom, and he “was waiting outside for her.”
