It was three years back in July 2018 that globally loved Hollywood pop singer Demi Lovato quickly was admitted into Cedars Sinai medical centre in Los Angeles. Many reports then went on to reveal about how Demi suffered it all just because of an overdose and was revived and gotten back from the brink of death through Narcan, which is an emergency treatment that’s administered for narcotic overdoses. This overdose took place at Demi’s home.

Demi’s relationship with drugs is known globally by all her fans. She had openly admitted about trying her hands at cocaine at just 17 years old and a month before her drug overdose back in 2018, she released a totally emotional and intense song titled “Sober” that threw light on her entire journey of relapse.

On this she in her song Sober said, “I’m sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again. I want to be a role model but I’m only human”.

In Demi’s newly released docu series titled Dancing With The Devil, she bares out her soul totally and gets more real about just how damaging and devastating was the drugs overdose was to her health where it also revealed about how Demi used heroin at the time of her overdose, which her team had denied back in 2018.

Explaining this part, she said, “I had three strokes. I had a heart attack. My doctors said that I had five to 10 more minutes [to live]”.

In an earlier interview with an internationally renowned TV association, revealing about the after effects of the drug overdose which are still present in her life, Demi told, “I was left with brain damage, and I still deal with the effects of that today. I don’t drive a car because I have blind spots in my vision and I also for a long time had a really hard time reading. It was a really big deal when I was able to read out of a book, like, two months later because my vision was so blurry. I’ve death with the repercussions, and they’re there to remind me what could happen if I get into a dark place again. I’m grateful for these reminders”.

Despite all this pain, the 28 years old actress is really grateful and blessed to be alive and also threw light on how this is her ninth life by referring it to the lifespan of a cat.

In her earlier interview back in 2020 on the globally loved The Ellen DeGeneres Show, opening up how her old management team controlled all things about her life which included even her eating habits she also spoke about having a unhealthy and bad relationship with food and the eating disorders as well. Emphasizing on this point, she said, “They would take the phone out of my room so that I couldn’t order room service. If there was fruit in my room they would take it out because that’s extra sugar. We’re not talking about brownies, cookies or candies – we are talking about fruit. For many years I didn’t even have a birthday cake, I had a watermelon cake where you cut your watermelon into the shape of the cake and then you put fat-free whipped cream on top and that was your cake”.

Now Demi has totally changed her entire management team and currently works with Scooter Braun who is a dear friend as well. She is also in therapy and works with a sobriety life coach as well.
