Chris Evans was named People’s S*xiest Man Alive 2022 on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Better known for playing Captain America, Evans accepted the award remotely from the set of his upcoming film after being introduced by former title holder Dwayne Johnson. Colbert announced People magazine’s selection for the second consecutive year.
Chris takes on the S*xiest Man Alive title that was last bestowed in November 2021 to actor Paul Rudd. Other recent winners include Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Ryan Reynolds and David Beckham. For the unversed, People magazine named its first S*xiest Man Alive in February 1985 when it picked then-29-year-old Mel Gibson for the honour.
Meanwhile, present-day Evans is still adjusting to the new title and having to talk about it with the outlet. However, the actor knows this news will delight at least one person adding, “My mom will be so happy.” The Gray Man star shared, “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.” The actor added while laughing, “This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about. It feels like a weird form of humble bragging.”
The Gray Man actor is also bracing for some good-natured ribbing from his close friends. “Really this will just be a point of bullying,” he jokes. “It’s ripe for harassment.” Evans jokes apart, his mom Lisa is delighted by the news. While talking with the outer, Chris Evans’s mother shared, “I am not surprised at all. Our family will be beside themselves.”
