Chris Evans Praises Ana De Armas’ Performance In Netflix’s Blonde

Chris Evans, who starred in Knives Out and The Gray Man with Ana de Armas, thinks the actress will win an Oscar for her performance as Marilyn Monroe.

Chris Evans recently shows support for his The Gray Man co-star Ana De Armas. In his latest interview with Variety, Evans shared his reaction to seeing the actress in the role of Marilyn Monroe for the upcoming film, predicting that she’ll take home an Academy Award for her work. For the unversed, the Netflix movie has earned some controversial reviews, however, critics praised Ana De Armas’ performance.

Meanwhile, Evans, who starred in Knives Out and The Gray Man with Ana de Armas, shared, “I think this was one of the first opportunities she had to really sink her teeth into something incredibly demanding.” Chris who popularly known for playing Captain America in MCU added, “I didn’t see one bit of fear; I saw excitement.” The actor went on to reveal his reaction to seeing de Armas’ initial camera test, saying, “I remember looking at it and saying, ‘OK, that’s Marilyn… where’s your shot? That’s you? You’re going to win an Oscar for this!'”

Blonde is the upcoming biopic of the Hollywood icon, Marilyn Monroe. Ana De Armas starred as the iconic character in the upcoming Netflix film, which is set to release on the streaming platform on September 28. Produced by Brad Pitt, Andrew’s Dominik adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’s novel, which reimagines the life of the tragic Hollywood star and is a fictionalised take on her story. Critics left impressed with Ana’s performance in Blonde and described it as ‘extraordinary.’

The screening of Blonde reportedly received a 14-minute standing ovation, the longest of any film at this year’s Venice Film Festival, which is known for its long applause. The incredible response brought lead actress Ana and her co-star Adrien Brody, who plays Arthur Miller in Blonde, to tears, as reported by DailyMail. While Marilyn Moore’s upcoming biopic received critical acclamation, it has been surrounded by many controversies.

Blonde has an NC-17 rating and in a previous interview with Lofficiel USA., Ana De Armas opens up about the decision regarding the rating. The actress shared, “I didn’t understand why that happened. I can tell you a number of shows or movies that are way more explicit content than Blonde. But to tell this story it is important to show all these moments in Marilyn’s life that made her end up the way that she did.”
