Charlie Puth recently gets candid about his girlfriend. The four-time Grammy nominee revealed he’s been in an on/off long-term relationship with a woman from his New Jersey hometown of Rumson. The singer also shared that he is in love with the mystery lady.
Talking about his girlfriend, Charlie shared, “[She’s] someone that I grew up with. As my life gets more turbulent and I travel everywhere it’s really nice to have someone close to you that you’ve known for a very long time.” Puth added, “She’s always been very, very nice to me and I would assume that when times inevitably are hard in the future because what is life without valleys and peaks, she would be there for me as well.”
Meanwhile, on asked if he is ready to propose, Charlie said that even if he does, the media won’t know about it. Charlie’s girlfriend will probably attend the opening show of his 12-date One Night Only Tour happening this Sunday at Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, NJ. The One Night Only Tour is in support of Puth’s self-titled third studio album Charlie, which dropped on October 7.
Charlie Puth previously confirmed he was dating singer Charlotte Lawrence on Valentine’s Day in 2019, but their eventual break-up was so bad it inspired his song That’s Hilarious. Charlie also admitted to having a short-term relationship with Grammy nominee Selena Gomez, which culminated in their 2016 duet We Don’t Talk Anymore. And while Puth once shared a very public kiss with Grammy winner Meghan Trainor on stage during the 2015 American Music Awards.

However, he later confirmed it was a publicity stunt and they were just friends. Puth was also rumoured to have previously dated Halston Sage (2018-2019), Pritika Swarup (2016-2017), and Madison Reed (2015-2016). ‘I’m not really interested in going out like I used to and being crazy,’ Charlie told Stern. “Honestly, I get so scared of people now, like, I can’t really walk anywhere for whatever reason. And I think the more that happens the more I just want to retreat to someone that I’ve known for a long time.”
