Cardi B Apologizes For Offending Indian Culture Via Instagram Story

Cardi B apologizes for offending Indian culture via sharing an Instagram story. The singer posed as Goddess Durga.

World-renowned singer Cardi B recently found herself in the wrath of controversy. She posed as Goddess Durga on the cover of a footwear magazine. On the cover, the singer is seen having 10 hands. However, instead of weapons, she is holding shoes in those hands. This invited a lot of criticism from many of her fans. So, Cardi B took to her Instagram story and in the video, she apologizes for offending Indian culture.

In the video, Cardi B explains what behind shooting that cover photo. She said, “When I did the shoot, the creatives told me I was going to represent a Goddess; that she represents strength, femininity and liberation, and that’s something I love and I’m all about. And though it was dope, if people think I’m offending their culture or their religion I want to say that was not my intent. I do not like offending anyone’s religion; I wouldn’t like it if someone did it to my religion.”

The shoe brand had posted the picture of Cardi B on their social media handles. They wanted to show her as a woman with inner strength and protection as a homage to Goddess Durga. However, the message didn’t go well with the public.

Hence, Cardi B in the video apologizes for offending Indian culture because of her new photoshoot for the magazine.

The singer further adds that she didn’t mean to disrespect any religion. She also mentions that she should have done her research.

In the video, Cardi B places emphasis that she intentionally didn’t hurt anyone’s belief or religion. The singer also says that she will be more cautious about it in the future.

Well, it seems like an oopsy moment for the singer and she will indeed do her research next time.
