Know Bridgerton Season 3 Story, Potential Release Date And New Cast

While filming for season 3 started in July, there is no official release date but fans can expect to see their beloved characters in 2023.

Bridgerton is one of the fans’ favourite dramas. And the streaming giant has recently revealed major deets about the series. Penned by Lady Whistledown, the highly anticipated series was renewed for both a third and fourth season by Netflix way back on April 13, 2021. Based on a series of eight novels written by Julia Quinn, Netflix hit series follows the Bridgerton family, comprised of widowed matriarch Violet (Ruth Gemmell) and her eight children, as they seek marriage matches in Regency England’s high society.

Bridgerton Season 3 Plot
The upcoming season will focus on Colin and Penelope’s love story. Penelope finally gives up her crush on Colin after hearing him disparage her to his friends last season. She’ll now focus on finding a husband who will respect her independence so she may continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, away from her mother and sisters.

Meanwhile, the official Netflix synopsis of Bridgerton season 3 reads, “Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.”

The synopsis continues, “But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season.”

The Netflix synopsis further adds, “But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.”

Bridgerton Season 3 Cast
Talking about the cast, Bridgerton will feature some of the new faces with old likes, Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley as Viscount and Viscountess Bridgerton. Hannah Dodd has been cast to replace Ruby Stokes as Francesca Bridgerton for the third season. Nicola Coughlan, Penelope, Eloise, and Colin will reprise their respective roles. Netflix also announced three other new additions to season 3, Daniel Francis will play Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips will play Lord Debling, and James Phoon will star as Harry Dankworth.
