Brad Pitt Impersonators Arrested In $350,000 Scam Targeting Two Female Fans, Actor Reacts: “It’s Awful”

Five arrested for posing as Brad Pitt, scamming women of $350K. Pitt warns fans to avoid fake profiles and online scams.

Spanish police have arrested five people for pretending to be Hollywood actor Brad Pitt and tricking two women into sending them over $350,000. The arrests were announced on September 23 by Spain’s Ministry of the Interior. The investigation into the fraud and money laundering has been going on for about a year. The scammers targeted fans who believed they were talking to the real Brad Pitt.

The fraudsters created a fake fan page for Brad Pitt and contacted the women, making them think they were talking to the actor himself. Over time, they built what seemed like romantic relationships with the victims and convinced them to send large amounts of money. One woman sent $168,000 while another sent around $195,500. So far, police have only recovered $94,000 from the scam.

After the arrests, Brad Pitt’s representative released a statement showing concern for the fans. The statement said, ” It’s awful that scammers take advantage of fans’ strong connection with celebrities.” Pitt’s representative also reminded everyone that the actor does not have any official social media accounts and warned people not to trust messages from fake profiles.

Brad Pitt is not the only celebrity affected by fake accounts. Stars like Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp and others have also warned their fans about similar scams. Recently, actress Florence Pugh spoke out on Instagram about fake accounts pretending to be her and asking fans for money or personal details.

This situation highlights the importance of being careful online. Fans should avoid interacting with people who claim to be celebrities, especially if they ask for money or personal information.
