Blindspotting Is Set To Have A Season 2

Blindspotting is set to have a second season and is to be released next month. The actress announced the second season on International Women's day.

Popular show Blindspotting is coming back with its second season, and Starz released the first trailer for Season 2 on Wednesday. The second installment in Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs’ comedy series, which is a sequel to the couple’s 2018 film, picks up nine months after Ashley (Jasmine Cephas Jones) and Miles (Casal)’s prison wedding in Season 1 Final.

In the trailer, Ashley tries to adjust to her “new normal” by raising her son Sean (Atticus Woodward) on her own while Miles serves his time at San Quentin. However, those around her quickly become concerned when Ashley’s behavior goes off the rails. One of her friends remarks that she “was in one,” while her mother-in-law, Rainey (Helen Hunt), says she was acting “scary.”

“The second season maintains a light-hearted and fun tone while tackling complex issues with an innovative comedic twist, highlighting the hilarious antics as Ashley and her family try to navigate the insane chaos of their life in the Bay Area,” a description of the network readings.

In addition to helping create the series, Casal and Diggs serve as executive producers and writers, with Casal also serving as executive producer and director on four episodes. Snoot Entertainment’s Jess Wu Calder and Keith Calder, Emily Gerson Saines, Ken Lee, and Tim Palen also serve as executive producers, and Wu Calder is also directing two episodes of the second season.

Blindspotting debuts on April 14 at midnight ET on the Starz app.
