Azealia Banks Lashed Out At Taylor Swift’s Beau Matty Healy For His Controversial Remark On Ice Spice

Azealia Banks took to her Instagram Stories and posted a rant over Matty Heally, calling him a 'full-on incel' and also questioning his knowledge about the industry itself.

American rapper, singer, and songwriter Azealia Banks took to her Instagram Stories and posted a rant over Matty Heally, calling him a ‘full-on incel’ and also questioning his knowledge about the industry itself.

The 31-year-old singer shared text posts and voice messages mocking the 34-year-old frontman of 1975, in which she ripped off his band’s music. She also included several lewd sexual comments about him and Taylor Swift.

Her tirade appears to have been inspired by criticism Healy made of racist comments made to rapper Ice Spice during a February appearance on The Adam Friedland Podcast.

In response to her most recent remarks, Banks posted a picture of Healy on stage with his arms open wide as a title, referencing his onstage apology for his comments about Ice Spice as she chastised him in her text.

She asked in her post, “Does Matt Healy know that no one actually thinks the 1975 makes good music,” even though the band’s last four albums debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 album charts? Does Matt Healy know that he’s a lame poser with a trashy, cliche band name that actually means nothing? And he’s clearly so depressed that a black girl who doesn’t know anything about him or his musical background is making more moves and money than him.

Furthermore, she bragged that “female rap is big business today, which is why black women are more sought-after in the industry.”

She also asserted that Death From Above (1979) and The Academy Is were influences on The 1975.

She claimed that Healy Band would “never” be as successful artistically as those bands because he is “not a star” and “good at whatever this crappy mid-2000s indie pitchfork darling fantasy you’re trying to sell.”

She praised Ice Spice at the end of the piece, saying that she had “miles more originality than you will ever have.”

She continued witheringly, “The 1975 is on nobody’s radar, babe,” before asserting that only “fat emo teenagers” would enjoy Healy’s songs.

In her second story, she stated, “Matt Healy is one shared needle away from tetanus” in a subsequent text message.
