Avengers Star Evangeline Lilly Will Not Self Isolate Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

Avengers' and 'Lost' actor Evangeline Lilly said that amid the coronavirus pandemic she values her independence and does not want to isolate herself. Her statements have attracted widespread criticism.

As can be seen by her unit of Marvel Cinematic Universe Idris Elba and ‘Lost’ co-star Daniel Dae Kim testing positive for the coronavirus, actor Evangeline Lilly has dismissed COVID-19 as a mere’ respiration flu’ that is not worthy of self-quarantining.

The star, who starred as The Wasp in MCU movies Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Endgame, took to Instagram on Thursday and posted, “Just dropped my kids off at gymnastics camp. They all washed their hands before going in. They are playing and laughing.”

When someone wrote in the comment section that conditions in New Mexico weren’t as easy, Lilly thought the situation was being blown out of proportion. “I think we all need to slow down, take a breath, and look at the facts we are being presented with,” Lilly replied. “They do not add up to the all-out, global lockdown, control, pandemonium and insanity we are experiencing.”

She also said, “Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices.” The actress also disclosed that she’s living with her two kids and her ailing father, who is facing stage four Leukaemia.

Needless to say, the actor’s opinion didn’t go down too well. “I hope there’s enough hospital beds and ventilators when you need it,” one person wrote. The other  “You are a heartless, selfish, person. Italy has military trucks driving coffins away to be cremated and these people won’t even get a funeral while their lives ones sob heartbroken.”

As of March 20, a total of 15,219 cases were registered in the U.S., and more than 274,000 cases worldwide.
