Here’s When ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ Will Be Available To Stream On Disney+

Avatar: The Way Of Water continues to dominate the box office worldwide. The highly anticipated sequel grossed more than $1 billion at the global box office during its first two weeks in theatres. Moreover, the more-than-three-hour sci-fi film made $712.7 million internationally as of December 28. Currently, Avatar 2 crossed the $1.5 billion mark at the International box office.

Avatar: The Way of Water marks the long-awaited sequel to Avatar, which made its theatrical debut in December 2009. Avatar 2 has been in the works for quite some time following the success of its predecessor, though production delays kept pushing back the actual release. Finally, Avatar: The Way Of Water was released in theatres on December 16, 2022, after a wait of more than a decade.

Many of you have enjoyed the 3D experience in theatres, however, many fans are still waiting to stream the film at their home. And here’s the good news! Avatar: The Way of Water will soon be available to stream on Disney+. Making its way from the big screen to the OTT platform, the Avatar sequel is expected to hit Disney+ sometime this year.

However, an official announcement about the release date has yet to be announced is yet to come, but several predictions can be made based on the streamer’s previous trends. Disney offers a 45-day exclusive theatrical release and then moves the movies to the streaming platform. And if the film will follow the same trend, Avatar 2 might release on Disney+ sometime in February. Till then, you have to visit the theatre to watch the most-awaited sequel.

Directed by James Cameron, the film features an ensemble cast with Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, and Matt Gerald reprising their roles from the original film, with Sigourney Weaver returning in a different role. The film also has new cast members including Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Brendan Cowell.

Avatar: The Way of Water depicts the story of nearly 13 years and follows Jake and Neytiri’s family and ‘the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.’
