Avatar 2 Gets Official Title And Release Date

The upcoming movie Avatar: The Way Of Water is set over a decade after the events of the first movie.

The official title for the James Cameron movie Avatar 2 was recently shared at CinemaCon. The upcoming science-fiction movie will be called ‘The Way Of Water.’ The film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel and Trinity Bliss. Disney also released new footage of the movie during the event.

The video takes fans to ‘different regions across the dazzling world of Pandora through sweeping visuals of the planet’s crystal blue oceans and lakes. The clip also shows the local tribe of Na’vi interacting with various species resembling whales and pelicans, some of which flew through the screen and into audience members’ faces thanks to the three-dimensional technology.’ However, Avatar: The Way Of Water is set over a decade after the events of the first movie.

Meanwhile, the official synopsis of Avatar 2 reads, ‘Jake Sully and Ney’tiri have formed a family and are doing everything to stay together. However, they must leave their home and explore the regions of Pandora. When an ancient threat resurfaces, Jake must fight a difficult war against the humans.’ Avatar 2 is scheduled to release on December 16, with sequels to come on December 20, 2024, December 18, 2026, and December 22, 2028.
