Scooter Braun who attended the2019 Entertainment Industry Conference at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce stated, “I haven’t talked about this in six months, not once.” During the conference Scooter’s acquisition of Big Machine Records / Big Machine Label Group – and his very public feud with Taylor Swift – came up. Taylor has been publically expressing her fustration about how Scooter owns her back catalogue and finally he decided to speak it out.

He said, “I haven’t made a statement about it, and that’s hard. It’s hard because a lot of things being said and a lot of different opinions [being expressed], yet the principle [actors] haven’t been given a chance to speak to each other. There’s a lot of confusion.” He also revealed how he isn't  “going to go into details” as it isn't his style, however he stated that he feels we live in “a time of toxic division, [where] people thinking that social media is an appropriate place to air out at each other and not have conversations.”

Scooter also stated that problems can be discussed “behind closed doors and figured out pretty easily. It’s something I wanted to do for six months.” Further stating that though it is hard he can handle it easily, but when things get to death threats. offices being closed and people being threatened, he thinks it has all gotten out of hand and wants to come together and have a conversation because that’s not what it’s about. It’s not what they got into this industry.

Taylor made known of her unhappiness against Scooter Braun in June after he brought the rights to her music, on buying Big Machine Label Group for a reported $300 million. On her Tumblr account, Taylor accused him “incessant, manipulative bullying” over the years.” She recently accuses Scott and Scooter of preventing her from performing her old music at the event. And though Big Machine Records denied Taylor’s claim, she released a message about how they blocked the use of her music in an upcoming Netflix documentary and during an event in China. She also claimed that Big Machine owes almost $8 million in unpaid royalties.
