Sarah Hyland Finally Reveals Why She’s Been Missing On ‘Modern Family’
Fans did not take time to notice that ‘Haley’ (Sarah Hyland) has been missing from quite a few of the already-aired 11 episodes of Modern Family, which is supposed to be the final season of the hit sitcom.
A curious fan directly took to Twitter to ask the actress herself about the absence of her famous character on the show. Sarah, shockingly, replied to the fan and her answer to the question was taken as cheeky and playful by some fans, while some fans wondered if there was any drama involved in regards to her not being on the show.
“Apparently I’ve been busy with the twins,” Hyland replied to the fan’s question on twitter on the 17th of January, referring to her character that had twins during the season 10 finale, which aired on TV last year in the month of May. Her character Haley Dunphy welcomes a baby boy and a baby girl with her long time on-again and off-again boyfriend Dylan, played by actor Reid Ewing.
Instead of providing the audience with answers, the 29-year-old actress’ reply raised more questions about whether the actress was “done dirty” by the makers of the show.
(Spoiler Alert) The show’s recent episode that aired on the 15th of January showed Phil Dunphy’s father’s funeral, but Haley was nowhere to be seen on her own grandfather’s funeral, which came as a shock to fans. Sarah later shockingly revealed that she found out along with audience that her character’s grandfather had passed away.
“So, I don’t read scripts of the episodes of Modern Family that I’m not in. So I just found out that my grandpa’s dead along with all of you,” Sarah said in her Instagram story, “I guess I should have put a spoiler alert for Grandpa Frank dying, but I was just caught off-guard,” she continued.
The actress further added, “As his granddaughter, you’d think I’d be invited to the funeral,” which raised a lot of eyebrows.
On the SAG 2020 Red Carpet, Sarah revealed, “We have three episodes left to shoot,” to a leading news portal. She further revealed that the show will end by the end of February.
