All My Children Star John Callahan Passed Away On Saturday

John Callahan, the All My Children star, dies at 66. His ex-wife and former co-star of the AMC, Eva La Rue, said: "We are extremely saddened and distraught over the loss of John."

John Callahan, former soap opera star of 'All My Children' fame died at 66. The star, known for playing Edmund Grey in All My Children, passed away Saturday after suffering a major stroke at his home in Palm Desert, CA,  his rep confirmed the news on Friday, according to TMZ.

Callahan's rep said his death is not related to COVID-19 but reports that due to the coronavirus, some of John's family members were only able to see him for a brief time because of hospital constraints currently in the effect in the world.

His ex-wife and former AMC co-star, Eva La Rue said, "We are extremely saddened and distraught over the loss of John." She continued, "He was my great friend, co-parent and an amazing father to Kaya. The absence of his bigger than life, gregarious personality will leave a hole in our hearts forever. Words cannot express the shock and devastation we are feeling at this time. The Yankees just lost one of their greatest fans."

John has been played Edmund Grey for years on the hit show All My Children starring in his role from 1992 till 2005. He worked for a few years in the 80s on the daytime soap 'Santa Barbara' and even starred in the 90s on Falcon Rest. Callahan also had recurring roles on Days of Our Lives from the late 1980s all the way up to 2010.

John had his name on 34 acting credit. He was living with his daughter  Kaya at his house in Palm Desert CA.
