From the phenomenal success of Meryl Streep in Iron Lady to the female icons of literary classics, we have completed some inspirational films that reflect independent women's determination and courage.

The Piano

Some film critics claimed that the mute Ada lacks the skills to be an independent person, as she once left her favorite artistic practice— piano play — to seek a romantic relationship. But it's also what makes the feminine strength of Ada special as she consciously follows what her heart wants.

Iron Lady

Meryl Streep is known as one of Hollywood's greatest actors and is absolutely unforgettable in her role as Margaret Thatcher in Iron Lady. The impressionistic drama film follows Thatcher from her early years as she works hard to fight gender and class barriers and become England's first female prime minister.

Coco before Chanel

Every brand to be established has a story that inspires many and this one's for you, labeling all fashion fanatics. The film focuses on one of the most famous and influential women in fashion history — Coco Chanel — who works as a seamstress and cabaret entertainer, living a life she isn't meant to live for until she becomes the lover and fashion advisor of the sexy English businessman Arthur Capel. As well as being an elegant, emotional romantic film, the piece also brings out the incredible aura and charisma of Chanel.

Erin Brockovich

Erin Brokovich (Julia Roberts), the single mother of three, is trapped in a tough situation after losing a case related to personal injury. With no alternative, the unemployed Brokovich worked as her lawyer's legal assistant to preserve her life, but because of her inappropriate clothing and formal manners, she fails to live up to everyone's standards at work.

The smart lady then builds a desire to fight for justice, which plays an important role in an anti-pollution case trying to take down a California power business.

The Help

A young, ambitious journalist, Skeeter Phelan (Emma Stone), is determined to write a book based on the point of view of African American maids about the white families they work for, revealing the struggles and prejudice that the maids face in their everyday lives. Expect lots of inspirational moments as well as some tears as they discuss past struggles and query relationships and friendships between the races.

Little Women

Greta Gerwig's film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel Little Women has proved to be amusing and groundbreaking, featuring a star-studded cast of Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, and Timotée Chalamet. Set against the Civil War context, the film portrays the four March sisters — Meg, Beth, Amy and Jo — and their different aspirations. The women encourage us not to take no for a reply, and up for what you believe.

Happy International Women's Day (IWD), ladies! Do not stop or restrict yourself from being the real you. Wear that bright smile and confidence because you deserve all the happiness and love.
