Anne Heche’s Official Cause Of Death Revealed!

Anne Heche dies on August 14, 2022, following a tragic car crash. She was 53.

Actress Anne Heche died after a tragic car accident. The actress was hospitalized in critical condition for nine days. However, Anne Heche’s family, friends and fans are finally getting official answers as to the cause of her death. The actress died as a result of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries due to her fiery car crash, according to the LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.

On August 14, the actress was taken off life support after getting into a serious car accident a week prior in Los Angeles. For the unversed, Heche crashed her blue Mini Cooper into a home on August 5. Fifty-nine firefighters rescued Heche from the crash that ignited a house fire. She was rushed to a nearby hospital with severe burns, and the home was completely destroyed.

The accident was Heche’s third car crash within a 30-minute span. After her tragic death, Heche’s ex Coley Laffoon took to Instagram to remember Heche and promise to look after the son they share. Laffoon and Heche were married from 2001 to 2009 and shared a 20-year-old son, Homer. Heche also has a 13-year-old son, Atlas, from her previous relationship with James Tupper.

In other news, In a posthumously-released podcast interview clip, Heche opened up about the possibility of putting her life on screen and which actresses she’d want to play a younger version of herself. In a recently released Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, the actress said, “Miley Cyrus or Kristen Bell. I’ve already thought about it.” Heche said that the two of them share a personality ability to face the world in a way that I feel like I have, and I would want to be portrayed.”

The Wag the Dog star called Cyrus ‘a great actress’ and said she was particularly fascinated with her Hannah Montana portrayal while noting that she also began working at a young age doing dinner theatre in New Jersey. As for Kristen Bell, she and Heche previously shared the screen in the 2004 Lifetime movie, Gracie’s Choice. While gushing about the collaboration, in which the pair played mother and daughter, Heche said, “Kristen Bell gave me my second Emmy nomination.”
