However, while discussing her new role in the upcoming drama Armageddon Time, she opened up about how having kids has made her ‘choosier’ in picking what roles to pursue. In the latest interview, Anne explained, “I have to say, the ‘kids’ thing has been the biggest shift.” Armageddon Time is set to hit the theatres on November 4.

The Princess Diary star continues, “That’s kind of re-prioritized everything, so it’s actually made me a bit choosier because something really has to be so excellent to spend time away from them because they’re so precious to me.” She added, “They’re the most sacred part of my life by a long shot. And then when I do accept something, it puts greater pressure on me to make it worth the time that I’ve spent away from them.”

Hathaway further explained that she has always felt a big responsibility, with mixed results, to the audience that was going to see the project that she was gonna work on because she takes it very seriously. ‘People work so hard for their money and the idea that I’m asking you for your time and your money to like do this thing that I love to do, it has to be worth it, it really does,’ Hathaway added.

She added another element of her becoming more ‘choosy’ is, “I want to be the best actor that I can. I never want to stop learning. So that means I want to work on as many different types of movies and play as many different types of roles as I can.” She went on to say, “For me, the most crucial part of that approach is I have to work with the best directors who will have me. I have to do that.”
