The 30-year-old Women’s World Cup Champion and her husband, MLS player Servando Carrasco, welcomed together their first child, a baby girl on May 7! On May 9 Alex announced the news on her Instagram page, sharing baby Charlie Elena Carrasco‘s most adorable photo with her 9.2 million followers.
Born at 11.30 am, the baby weighed in at 8 pounds and 5 ounces. In the snap posted by her proud mom, the newborn looked incredibly adorable, as she wore a light pink blanket with a pretty floral pattern and a matching bow around her head.
Friends and fans alike were prompt to greet Alex, including fellow soccer player Abby Dahlkemper who wrote, “Congrats Al,” and Olympic swimmer Simone Manuel who added, “Congratulations Alex, husband, and family! She is precious.”
At the end of last year, October Alex and Servando revealed their pregnancy on Instagram. The pair smiled at each other in a nice photo opp by the beach as Alex held a sign reading, “Baby girl April 2020” A second photo showed a closeup of the then parents holding hands wrapped around white baby Nike shoes with blue and orange swooshes, with their fingers.
“We are already in love and we haven’t even met her yet,” Alex wrote in the caption for her announcement post. “Newest member of the Carrasco family, coming soon”.
Meanwhile, Servando posted a similar photo with the two pups of the family, carrying a sign that read, “Adding 1 more to the fam… April 2020 Baby Girl.” He captioned his post with, “Can’t wait to meet my baby girl”.
In 2014, Alex and Servando got married in a romantic New Year’s Eve ceremony after the previous December engagement. At UC Berkeley, both athletes played soccer. Congratulations on their newest member added to the happy family!
