Song Joong Ki recently delighted fans by sharing rare insights into his married life and role as a father. During an appearance on the Hello Choi Hwa Jung YouTube channel on December 26, 2024 the actor revealed details about his family and lifestyle. He spoke warmly about his wife, British actress Katy Louise Saunders, and their two children, while discussing his life in Tuscany, Italy where they often stay when he’s not working.
“I stay in Itaewon, but I also have a place in Tuscany,” Song Joong shared, adding that his wife has lived in Italy her entire life. He described their tranquil life near Rome and mentioned his efforts to learn Italian since his son speaks it fluently. Meanwhile, his wife is learning Korean, even managing adorable exchanges with his mother-in-law.
The Vincenzo star fondly recalled how his wife once scolded him for keeping his manager waiting, teaching him a valuable lesson in manners. Song Joong also expressed admiration for her warmth and character, stating she deserves to be “bragged about.”
At a recent press conference for his upcoming film Bogotá: City of the Lost, the actor shared another personal connection – his wife’s Colombian heritage. The movie, which explores Colombia during the IMF crisis, gave Song Joong a chance to experience the country’s vibrancy. “The Colombia I experienced was full of life and amazing food,” he said, reflecting on the country’s efforts to overcome stereotypes.
With Bogotá set to release soon, Song Joong continues to impress fans both with his professional work and personal anecdotes.
