Actor Jacob Elordi is reportedly in early negotiations to star in Ridley Scott’s upcoming thriller The Dog Stars, stepping in for Paul Mescal. Paul who worked with Scott on highly-anticipated Gladiator sequel had to exit the project due to scheduling conflicts with Sam Mendes’ Beatles antology. Based on Peter Heller’s 2012 novel with the same name follows a pilot named Hig who navigates a desolate, pandemic-stricken world. Hig, accompained by his dog and ex-Marine, encounters a glimmer of hope when a mysterious radio transmission hints at a better future.
As per the reports in Variety, if the deal closes, Jacob will be playing the role of Hig in the intense survival story. The script penned by Mark L. Smith known for The Revenant and Twisters, adds depth to the novel’s exploration of resilience and human connection in an apocalyptic setting. Produced under Ridley Scott’s Scott Free banner, the film is expected to start production after Ridley wraps up his Bee Gees biopic for Paramount.

this marks another major project for the actor Jacob Elordi, whose career trajectory has been on the rise since his breakout role in The Kissing Booth. Recently, he portrayed Elvis in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla and will soon appear as the monster in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. He’s also set to star in Wuthering Heights alongside Margot Robbie and HBO’s final season of Euphoria, for which he’s highly popular among audience!
