Reflecting on the legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Sunny Deol and Anil Kapoor, Meenakshi shared her thoughts as to why men tend have that longevity in the industry, than women. She said, “There is a given ideology in the industry that men will have long innings, like Dharmendra, Jeetu ji, etc.” The other reason she mentions is the division of household work. Because men do not have to take care of the household duties, the former actress feels that they can primarily focus on their career as an “actor”. Adding further, Meenakshi Seshadri says, “They(heroes) don’t have to factor in childbirth, or pregnancy. It is mostly what comes to a woman’s shoulders.” However she also highlighted the fact that the love among the fans for these leading male stars is so high that they continue to be in the limelight even after longer years.
According to the former Indian actress, a heroine’s shine fades away after a time because of the multitude of resposnibiliites they are burdened with, as they move ahead in their life. During the interview, Meenakshi also recalled her beautiful memories spent with the veteran actors like Rajesh Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha, Jitendra, and many others like Anil Kapoor and Sunny Deol. As she reminisces an old memory, Meenakshi contradicts the fact that Shatrughan Sinha and Rajesh Khanna never seemed temperamental or egoistic to her. Instead, they were very co-operative during their shoot together with her. While Rajesh Khanna always agreed to rehearsals because Meenakshi needed it, Sinha on the other end, once arrived to the shoot as early as 6 am just because the actress had other commitments.
As an actress, Meenakshi Seshadri confessed that she never regretted her decision of leaving the glamour industry to get married and settle up with family.
