he makers of Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan have dismantled the football arena set of the movie. They are planning to rebuild a makeshift field before November. Read below to know more.

Amid the lockdown imposed because of the coronavirus pandemic shooting of many Bollywood movies came to standstill. Now, slowly as the unlock process begins nationwide, film and TV productions are also resuming slowly. The production houses are suffering heavy losses due to the schedule days and many have even dismantled the sets as it remains unused.

Speaking of the same, the shooting of Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan was supposed to kick-start in March but it called-off due to the lockdown situation. However, now the football arena set of the movie has been dismantled and the team is planning to re-build a makeshift stadium in the month of November. Reportedly, over Rs. 7 crores has been spent on the grand set of the movie.

Owing to the monsoon that has arrived in Mumbai, the makers had to make the decision to pull down the sets to avoid further losses. Although the rebuilding will also add the expenses, but there seems no other option left with the makers.

Since a major chunk of the movie is yet to be shot, the makers have pushed the release date to August 2021.

The plot of Maidaan revolves around one of India’s finest football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. He is also known as the architect of modern football in India for his achievements in making the nation in Football during his lifetime.

Bankrolled by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta, the movie is helmed by Amit Sharma. The screenplay and the dialogues of the movie are penned down by Saiwyn Quadros and Ritesh Shah respectively.

Maidaan was slated to release on December 11, 2020.
