Notable singer and Padma Bhushan recipient Sharda Sinha has passed away the previous day, leaving behind a legacy of musical tales. Sharda Sinha, was highly recognised for her soulful melodies and several bhajans she has sung over the career span. After a long battle with cancer, Sinha died at the age of 72. She was admitted into the AIIMS hospital since October 25 due to several complications arising out of cancer. However, the battle could not be fought any longer and the singer took her last breath in the hospital itself.

For many, Sharda Sinha is a renowned singer and is immensely popular for her folk song on “Chathhi Maiyya”. This song holds utter love amongst fans as it is about the beautiful fasting-festival Chath Puja, that is celebrated across the UP and Bihar women for their family. As much as the love for this festival is seen among the females of those region, the love for Sharda Sinha was equally same. Her death also marked the beginning of the Mahaparv as it was Day 1 of Chath Puja – the 4 day festival. Sharda Sinha, who is closely associated with Chath Puja passed away on the first day of Chathh festival, breaking millions of hearts across the nation.
PM Narendra Modi Pays Tribute To Sharda Sinha
In an instagram post, Sinha’s son wrote, “Your prayers and love will always be with mother. She has been called by Chhathi Maiya to her side.”. PM Narendra Modi also poured in tribute as the news of demise came out. He expressed his condolenes on his X account. Several ministers like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and others paid their tribute to the Padma Bhushan singer. Reportedly, Union health minister JP Nadda visited the deceased last night to check upon her health condition in the hospital where he also spoke to her son and the senior doctor officials in regards to her stability situation.
