The much loved comedy entertainer, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma is a never-ending TV show with its popularity only growing by each passing day. However, the absence of Disha Vakani aka Dayaben from the show has been a long standing issue, which remains unresolved by makers ever since she left the show. While producer Asit Kumar Modi has always backed this loophole, with a promise to bring Dayaben back to the show – a latest announcement by him makes it a final verdict that Disha Vakani will no more be joining the show, indicating towards her permanent sign-off from the show.

In a recent interaction with News18 Showsha, Asit Kumar Modi reflected on the impact on his show after she left it, and how he too misses her everytime. During the conversation, Asit Modi addressed the importance of bringing back the notable character once again to the show. “It is very important to bring back Dayaben because I also miss her.” Further, the show producer informed that it is about the variations in the circumstances that leads to the delay in Dayaben’s entry. He adds, “Sometimes circumstances change in such a way that certain things happen and it gets delayed. Sometimes the story gets prolonged. Sometimes some big events come. There were elections in 2024, there was IPL and then the World Cup matches, the rainy season. It gets delayed because of some reasons.”
Disha Vakani Will NOT Return As Dayaben
Finally he accepted that Disha Vakani herself will no more come bck to join the show, but he is ready to launch a new face, in order to make the script go as per the format. “I am still trying. I believe Disha Vakani can’t be back. She has two children. She is like my sister. Even today, we have a very close relationship with her family. My sister Disha Vakani has tied a Rakhi to me. Her father and brother are also a family to me. You worked together for 17 years, and it became your extended family,” he added.
TV actress Disha Vakani left the show unannounced in the year 2018, seeking a maternity leave postr pregnancy. However, she never returned back and news of the actress quitting the show permanently swirled across the internet, shocking her fans beyond expectations. In the interaction, Asit Modi said that he still belives that some miracle could bring her back to the show, despite knowing that it is almost impossible for her to return due to so many responsibilites, being a mom.
He assured that the auditions for Dayaben ‘s role is undergoing, and a massive ‘welcome’ will be done of the highly cherished role across the globe once an individual is finalised post auditions.
