Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s Dil Bechara co-star Sanjana Sanghi has finally broken her silence on the MeToo allegations made against the late actor back in 2018 during the filming of their film. Sanjana took some time before clearing the air and then took to Twitter to clarify the same and called the allegations ‘baseless’.
Speaking to a news daily, Sanjana Sanghi confessed that not only was Sushant negatively affected by the false accusations but even she had to face some fair share of trouble. She further added that they knew the truth and she also knew what he meant to her and Sushant knew that and it was important. They were shooting for the film every day. Sanjana said that when one or two articles about the allegations come out, one can’t pay attention to the rumours.
Sanjana bashed the articles by saying that they were baseless and nothing changed between her and Sushant since it was all untrue. She then quizzed her fans by asking them to imagine to stars, who adore each other, to back and wonder how to prove all these false allegations false.
The debutant revealed that Sushant asked her whether to put out the chats between them and she agreed to the same, he then posted the screenshots. However, Sanjana said that even when he posted the screenshots of their chats, people were still in denial. She said that even her clarification didn’t work.
For the unversed, back in 2018, there were many reports suggesting that Sushant was accused of sexual misconduct by Sanjana. Although all the accusations were refuted by the actor, he also posted screenshots from the messages exchanged with his co-star and called the accusations a smear campaign.
Taking to his Twitter, Sushant had written, “The last thing worth doing is to defend yourself of the fiction created by an agenda. People using this much required campaign for their personal agenda is too much to ignore. So here is the text conversation with Sanjana till the time I shot for the film. I let you decide.”
Later in an Instagram post, Sushant said, “I feel sad to reveal personal information but it seems that there is no other way to state what actually happened, in the midst of this curated, well-timed, and agenda-driven smear campaign. From the first day of the shoot till the last day, this is what happened on the sets with Sanjana. Misconduct? Not at all. Agenda? You decide.”
Even Sanjana Sanghi has made things clear back then and asked everyone to put an end to all the conjectures.
Meanwhile, Sanjana Sanghi and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Dil Bechara will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on July 24. The film will mark Sushant’s last outing in Bollywood.
