Tollywood directors and actors have always been warm and friendly towards Hindi cinema actors. Whether it’s about hefty amounted paychecks, market opportunities, big stakes, international schedules, and extravagant sets, mana cinema has attracted many proven Bollywood actors who are willing to come out of their fraternity and seek new territory in the midst of stiff competition. Though the foundation for the Bollywood exodus was paved in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it has raised interest after actors such as Sonali Bendre, Shilpa Shetty, Anjala Zaveri, Preity Zinta, Aishwarya Rai, Sonal Chauhan, Kiara Advani, Vidya Balan, and Shraddha Kapoor have made a mark with their sparkling performances.
We have some young actors from Bollywood over the next few months, who are gearing ahead to create it big in the film industry in Telugu.
Actor Alia Bhatt, who stormed the Hindi film industry with her impeccable performances in movies such as Highway, 2 States, Udta Punjab, Dear Zindagi, and Raazi, is making her Telugu debut with the period actioner RRR of director SS Rajamouli. She is soon to play one of the two female leads in the film which stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan as well.
The actress Kangana Ranaut has been one of the most sought after Bollywood stars with three National Film Awards to her credit. She’s done with filming for Thalaivi, a biopic about the late actor-politician Jayalalithaa. The news took many by surprise when the film was revealed in the lead role with the Manikarnika star.
Another actor from Bollywood, Richa Chadha, is working in the upcoming film Shakeela by director Indrajith Lankesh, a titular biopic on the iconic adult star who ruled the Southern industry for more than two decades. The film, which is being produced in Hindi and all the languages of South India, wrapped up the shoot and is ready to hit the screens this year.
Given that these actors are gearing up to straddle through industries, the way they work in a fairly new industry remains to be seen.
