Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz recently opened up about the real reason behind why she quit acting in the first place. The Charlie’s Angels alum said that she found ‘peace’ when she retired from the movie business. In her recent appearance on Gwyneth Paltrow’s In Goop Health: The Sessions series Wednesday, Diaz discussed her wine business, and how her mentality changed as she got older. She also spoke about the impact her career had on her well-being and relationships.
Cameron said that she decided that she wanted different things out of her life, as she had gone so hard for so long for making and working in films. She confessed that it felt like a grind and it left not much space for her personal life.
When quizzed about how she felt walking away from a successful movie career, Diaz replied, “Peace. I got peace in my soul. I finally was taking care of myself.”
The former actress further added that post quitting her acting career, she focused on her relationships with family and friends after having certain aspects of her life being controlled by others for many years. The Knight and Day actress said, “When you’re making a movie, it’s a perfect excuse — they own you. You’re there for 12 hours a day for months on end and you have no time for anything else.”

After spending years of her life in a glamorous way, Cameron decided to become self-sufficient and take care of herself as an adult would. The actress also revealed that it is very intense being in the public eye. So, Diaz made up her mind to put the pieces of her life in a way she wanted, not how she wanted others to see.
Since Cameron Diaz quit acting, she has released two books and is currently enjoying some quality time with her super-supportive husband Benji Madden, and their daughter Raddix Madden.
