Once a Bollywood couple, Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan spent 14 years in marriage together. The two were married back in 2000, however, to everyone’s shock the famous Bollywood duo, parted ways in 2014. Neither, Hrithik nor Sussanne ever addressed or revealed the reason behind their divorce. While the two are currently in relationship with their respective partners after divorce, Sussanne’s brother and actor, Zayed Khan has opened up on his sister, Sussanne and ex-brother-in-law, Hrithik’s divorce.

In a conversation with Subhojit Ghosh, Zayed Khan stated that Mumbai has a lot of distractions, which makes it a tough city for many marriages. He said, “Look at our city, we live in a city where there are so many distractions. We don’t live in Dalhousie. It’s a tough city to survive for a lot of marriages, let alone my own family. Needless to say, we are an unmovable force.”
Talking about facing trolls after Hrithik and Sussanne’s divorce, Zayed said, “You have to have a thick skin. How your family galvanizes together to give you emotional support, these things matter. Our family is like a rock. Anything happens to one of us, it happens to all of us. I have nothing to say beyond, that these are things that one has to look at maturely. It could happen to anybody.”

Zayed emphasized that even after the divorce, Hrithik and Sussanne remain family and maintain a friendly relationship with each other’s new partners. He stated, “We are a very modern family. There’s a saying, that blood is thicker than water. If two people don’t want to be with each other, but they have many other things in common, one must understand and support them. There is something which lies ahead of that; family, children, everybody… Responsibilities are above and beyond all of that. We are a very open-minded family, as long as there is respect for each other. We inculcate that not only into ourselves but also our children”.
For the unversed, Hrithik Roshan is currently dating actress, Saba Azad, while Sussanne Khan is rumored to be dating Arslan Goni.
Talking about Hrithik’s girlfriend, Saba, and Sussanne’s boyfriend, Arslan, Zayed revealed, “Irrespective of whatever happens, we never badmouth any side. We make them realize that certain things are the way they are and that they’re going to be like this. We can all be happy together, or we can be sad together. What would you choose? I’m very close to my brother Hrithik as well. He’s a gem of a guy, with a heart of gold. Both their partners… Saba is a wonderful lady, Arslan is also a very good boy”.
