Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the shooting of film and television shows was halted on March 19. The most affected by this move has been the daily wage cine workers. A number of celebrities have contributed to the FWICE (Western India Cine Workers Federation).
Yash Raj Films, led by Aditya Chopra, has now reached out to the FWICE to obtain the details of the daily wagers bank account.
Gangeshwar Srivastav, FWICE’s treasurer speaking to a tabloid said that the YRF team called for account details of the daily wagers. He further said the details of 15,000 wagers per day were sent. This is the first major production house to show its support.
Several celebrities have made some valuable contributions to the FWICE over the past few days. Salman Khan is looking for all the basic needs of 25,000 daily wagers and their families, while Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn have donated Rs. 51 lakhs each to the FWICE.
