Yaaneea Bharadwaj: I Aspired Being Astronaut, Acting Just Happened

In her recent exclusive conversational chat with us, actor Yaaneea Bharadwaj says I aspired being an astronaut but acting just happened to me.

She is a rising star on the block who has already been successful in creating a niche and permanent position for herself in the showbiz world wherein her debut project was renowned Bollywood film maker Zoya Akhtar’s hit webseries Made In Heaven (Amazon Prime Video, 2018) and in her recent exclusive interview with us, actor Yaaneea Bharadwaj says I aspired being astronaut, acting just happened.

In her latest candid conversation with us opening up on her career as an actor and much more, Yaaneea Bharadwaj says I aspired being astronaut, acting just happened.

Opening up on her experience of making her big digital debut with renowned film maker Zoya Akhtar’s hit series Made In Heaven and dropping some details about her upcoming big bollywood debut in the industry with the much awaited and talked about film Chhori alongside B-town diva Nushrratt Bharuccha, Yaaneea Bharadwaj says I aspired being astronaut, acting just happened.

When asked about her experience of working in hit webseries Made In Heaven which also was her digital debut in the booming OTT world, Yaaneea shares, “The experience while shooting for Made in Heaven was amazing. It was my debut project so I was enjoying the whole process. Everything was new and everyone on the sets was so supportive and talented. Made in heaven ended up getting nominated in the Emmys and it was a privilege to be part of such a spectacular project. I will cherish this experience forever. All the credit for the whole team and Zoya Akhtar mam for making it phenomenally”.

When asked about her feeling of acting alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha in much awaited Bollywood movie titled Chhori, Yaaneea says, “It is an amazing film to be a part of. I am meticulous about my projects and for me, paying heed to my role is more important. The most important thing is I got my space to exhibit and enhance my skills as an actor”.

Opening up on how acting actually happened to her and more, Yaaneea said, “I have always aspired to become an astronaut so acting was something that just happened to me. I instantly fell in love with acting after I did my first play at Prithvi Theatre and international cinema has also played an important role in motivating me to be an actor”.

Revealing some details on how the movie Chhori actually happened to her, Yaaneea tells, “One fine day, I received a call for the audition, there were three rounds overall. The directors and the crew members really liked my performance and finally decided to cast me in the project”.

Giving her take on how because of OTT now even non filmy background actors are getting fame and recognition, Yaaneea responded, “It will be a lie if I say it isn’t true. Because of OTT platforms, many non-filmy background actors have gotten fame and due recognition. OTT platforms have given actors a wider reach of audiences. There’s no reason to deny that I have gotten my big break because of OTT”.

When asked about how she keeps herself positive and motivated in these tough times of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Yaaneea added, “I try to carve out time in my day for workouts and relaxation, meditation, and prioritizing my mental health. I also practice sword fighting and nunchucks to stay fit, gardening calms me down and relaxes my mind, and eating healthy and getting a night of good sleep is extremely important to stay positive. I also try to learn new habits and re-discover old ones”.
