The separation of A R Rahman and Saira Banu, after running 36 years of peaceful marriage was definitely a heartbreaking revelation for all. Fans have not only loved the Oscar-winning artist for his soulful compositions, but also respected him for his humble attitude carried by him throughout his journey. Now, that the musician has officially announced his divorce with wife Saira Banu, the discussions on kids custody is now on.
A R Rahman and Saira Banu have two daughters named Khatija and Rahima, and a son named Ameen Rahman. In a recent interview, Saira’a laywer Vandana Shah, who was also the first person to break the divorce news to the media has revealed that the custody for kids has not been finalised yet. “That’s not decided yet… It is yet to be decided… But some of them are adults, they are free to choose who they stay with,” pointing it towards the elder kids.
Will A R Rahman And Wife Saira Reconcile?
Further on being asked about the possibilities of Rahman and his wife reconciling together, Vandana Shah said that she never said that she never denied to the chances of the couple getting along once again. As she quotes, “I am an eternal optimist, and I always talk about love and romance. The joint statement is quite clear. It talks about pain and separation. It’s a long marriage and a lot of thought has gone into coming to this decision, but nowhere have I said that reconciliation is not possible,” This line has given many viewers a ray of hope that this decades long marriage would again take a fresh start. But on the same end, the decision of ending a 36-year long marriage is not easy, and must have been taken after a lot of thought which makes it unbelievably disappointing for many.
