Sidhu Moose Wala was an Indian singer, lyricist, rapper, actor, and politician. His real name was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu who hails from the Mansa district of Punjab, India. He was born on 11 June 1993 associated with Punjabi music and Punjabi cinema. The singer-turned-politician started his career as a songwriter with the song “License” by Ninja. Then he began his singing career with a duet song titled “G Wagon”.

After his debut, he collaborated with popular Brown Boyz for various tracks that were released by Humble Music. ‘So High’ was a break in his career as he got immense popularity after the release of this song. Later on, he released many tracks like, ‘Famous’, ‘295’, ‘Jatt Da Muqabala’, ‘Just Listen’ and others. Sidhu Moosewala had over 7 million followers on Instagram and fans gave him lots of love. After completing his engineering in Ludhiana, the singer moved to Canada.

The singer turned politician studied at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, and graduated in electrical engineering in 2016. He was influenced by popular rapper Tupac Shakur. Moosewala often came into controversies due to his controversial lyrical style, promoting gun cultures. He also challenged religious sentiments as was the case related to Mai Bhago, a revered figure in Sikhism. He also faced legal challenges for promoting gun culture as well as using inflammatory.

Moose Wala was often targeted by critics for inciting lyrics in his songs. Till 2022 there were four ongoing criminal cases against him. In December 2020, Moosewala released the single “Panjab: My Motherland.” The singer glorified Khalistani separatist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale as the song includes visuals from a speech made by Khalistani supporter Bharpur Singh Balbir in the late 1980s. He was slammed many times for the same. 

Talking about his political career Moosewala was a member of the Indian National Congress. He unsuccessfully contested the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election from his birthplace, Mansa. Talking about his personal life, according to the reports the singer was going to marry very soon in 2022.

Speaking about Sidhu’s marriage during the interview his mother told a popular news portal, “A little more time, then he will not be single anymore. We have started preparing for his marriage, which will happen after the elections this year.” She also further mentioned that his would-be wife was chosen by him. He never disclosed his lady love. On 29 May 2022 unfortunately he shot dead a few men.
