When Shah Rukh Khan Responded To His Alleged Relationship With Priyanka Chopra

Throwback: When Shah Rukh Khan responded to his alleged relationship with Priyanka Chopra, he called it very disrespectful.

Shah Rukh Khan is a self-made superstar in Bollywood who didn’t have any godfathers or connections but made growth not just in a day but over a period of time with his pure passion and hard work towards his craft of acting. He is the most natural actor in the industry. Whether off-screen or on-screen, he brings in a positive energy that just lightens the film itself. He gave such memorable performances over the years and shared a sizzling chemistry with almost all of his leading ladies, including Kajol, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Rani Mukerji.

In 2006, he teamed up with Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra for Farhan Akhtar’s Don. The film turned into a huge hit, and the fans also liked their onscreen pairing. Later, both were also seen in Don 2, but that was the last film of both of them together. Back then, there were a lot of discussions going on about whether they were dating each other. Later, when SRK’s wife Gauri Khan came to know about their alleged relationship, she dumped PeeCee from her inner circle and warned the actor to keep distance from her.

However, Priyanka and Shah Rukh also denied their link-up and said that both of them are just good friends. Back in 2012, during the promotion of his film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which also stars Katrina Kaid, the actor talked about his alleged relationship with Chopra and called the rumours disturbing.

Talking about the same, he said, “To me, what is most disturbing is the fact that a lady who worked with me has been questioned somewhere down the line. Not been shown the kind of respect that I show her or all of him. I think it’s a little disrespectful. I am extremely sorry about that. Sorry means it’s not directly because of anything I have done, but because she is my friend.

He further added, She is one of the closest friends that I have, very close to my heart, and always will be. But I just feel sometimes when things I say I need to step back from because I find it very banal, very small, and very menial, and it just tends to spoil a relationship that people share while working together, and she is a little girl who started her Miss India crowning with me, and we have shared some of the nicest moments onscreen as friends, and it’s unfortunate and sad for me to think that friendship gets a little spoiled.”

On this, he was asked if the rumours affected their friendship at all. He said, “Not at all. I think she is mature enough beyond our years to, you know, deal with it, but having said that, I think we all rush into giving names to relationships without even understanding them at times. That’s the strange part, not only of the media, I think all of us.”
