When Sanjay Dutt Confessed Taking Heroin, Video Resurfaces Online

Sanjay Dutt revealed that he didn't wake up for two days after consuming heroin.

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is one of the rare celebrities who openly spoke about his drug addiction. Sanjay Dutt, many a time, revealed that he was addicted to hard drugs and had to go to a rehabilitation centre for treatment.

An old video is going viral online where Sanjay Dutt can be seen narrating how he once consumed heroin and didn’t wake up for two days. He also revealed that at that moment he realised that he needed to deal with his addiction problem.

Sanjay Dutt appeared on Simi Garewal’s talk show “Rendezvous with Simi Garewal” in 2006 where he said, “One day I had taken heroin and went to sleep. I woke up after sometime. My servant on seeing me, started crying and said that ‘baba you’ve woken up after two days.’ I was shocked. I went and saw myself in the mirror. My face had that drenched look and I knew it that if I don’t stop myself now I will probably die.”

“So I went to dad and told him to save me. He sent me to a well-known hospital and soon after that I was sent to America to a rehabilitation centre,” he added.

After spending time in rehab, Sanjay Dutt decided to have a disciplined lifestyle and began focusing on his fitness. He came back to India and starred in two films – Do Dilon Ki Dastaan (1985) and Jaan Ki Baazi (1985). Both the films failed at the box office and Sanjay Dutt needed a hit film for a strong comeback. This is when Mahesh Bhatt casted him in his film Naam (1986). The film was a major box-office success. Post that, Sanjay began getting many offers.
